PHOTO STORIES: Tennile & Matt

Upon first meeting Tennille & Matt, I immediately felt that this wedding was to be a truly special occasion. I was duly rewarded. From the enthusiastic collective joy of family and friends, to the generously warm relationships contained within, the gathering was an absolute pleasure to witness. It was clear that this was also a welcome marriage of two families, whose love and support was evident. Working and celebrating with this very happy collection of people, proved to be a wonderful way to spend a balmy hot late June weekend in Manhattan.

The opportunity to visually capture a couple's marriage day is an honor and responsibility I fully embrace. A wedding can hold all that is positive in life: love, hope, expectations, family, friends and community, all coming together for a brief period of time to celebrate a new beginning. For me, such an occasion offers a rich and diverse pageant of humanity to be enjoyed, also an opportunity to offer my own gift of photography. To know that some day in the future, as they reminisce about this day with my photographs fills me with a profound sense of satisfaction and purpose. If I am to truly help them relive those moments with the emotional depth of the day itself, I must create a collection of images which encapsulate the very essence of their unique experience. Images created with a keen and vivid freshness, capable of holding faithfully that which made their special day, special for them.

This marriage was such a day. After saying their vows to a setting sun, they turned to face those gathered. And with faces bathed in the soft, warm light, big smiles of contentment met big smiles of approval. Inspiring and rewarding for its wealth of love and kindness, the wedding of Tennille & Matt was indeed special for all.
